Google: Wiping Away Spam for a Brilliant Shine

Google: Wiping Away Spam

The Panda is back. Barry Schwartz over at Search Engine RoundTable was able to confirm with Google yesterday that there was a Panda data refresh. The last Panda data refresh was on July 24, and this refresh was said to affect 1% of queries. If a site was previously penalized by Panda they were given the term “Pandalized” sites and with this latest data refresh some of these sites have seen a spike in their traffic.

Going forward when Google has Panda data refreshes they will be more frequent and be tweaks, while Penguin will be less often and be more jolting.

With Panda 3.9.1, Google is trying to focus on building high-quality sites and it is good to see that some sites are starting to recover. Hopefully this means that more web designers are focusing on their site quality and seo efforts.

Has your site been impacted by Panda or Penguin? Are you preparing for the next Penguin refresh after Matt Cutts’ warning?
